IberiaTeacher is an employment programme we set up to give anyone who wants to try teaching English practical teaching experience within a supported environment. Placements are based in Seville and Lisbon, last 90 days and all expenses are paid: flights, accommodation, bills, language lessons, travel insurance, 24/7 in country support, preparation training, 120 Euros per week for food and local travel. Participants must be mostly UK based and kind, committed and curious. (Spanish or Portuguese language skills are not required). The programme gives you a chance to try out and develop your skills with a group of peers of mixed ages - and learn from each other. I am a 31-year-old queer disabled woman, PhD student at Leeds Uni. I am neurodivergent (ADHD), and have cerebral palsy and ME/CFS, which impacts my energy levels, mobility, motor coordination, and executive function. I require a Personal Assistant to help me with various duties as and when during the week. I live in a shared house with two other people, and we share responsibility for cleaning kitchen, bathroom, and living room.
