THERMOAGE – The effects of extreme indoor temperature on postural stability, muscle properties and physiology response in older people Extreme weather events in the form of cold and heat waves have been more frequent and longer over the past decade. This poses a severe health risk to vulnerable populations, particularly older adults, who have an impaired ability to regulate their body temperature. Aging is also associated with decline in mobility, balance control, muscle properties and physiology response. Thus, having a better understanding of the link between biomechanical and physiological mechanisms and temperature is critical.
