The Clothworkers Bar supports the University's International Concert Series and School of Music conference and social events. Situated in the Clothworkers Foyer, the Clothworkers Bar is quite unlike student-serving campus bars. Running service, normally by yourself, sometimes with the assistance of another member of staff, represents a varied and interesting opportunity. Main duties: Bar setup: unlock, access storage area and restock bottle coolers, information screen on, till system on, prime glasswasher, water boiler on, ice machine on, prepare tea and coffee urns, external lights on, shutters up, etc. Bar service, serve: wine by the glass, bottled lagers, measured spirits and mixers, bottled soft drinks, tea/coffee, snacks. Maintain a clean bar, cleaning glasses, mugs, etc. with glasswasher, wipe down surfaces. School Porter

Based in Music Reception, the School Porter's primary role is in enabling the flow of people into and out of the School building, 16:00-22:00, Monday-Friday, during term-time For public events, the Porter provides a front door welcome service, e.g. for concert / event audiences (evenings and weekends), and may be required to check visitors in / log attendance Other duties include: Unlocking the School building and un-setting the intruder alarm to enable access, e.g. for concert performer, conference organisers and delegates (evenings and weekends) Unlocking rooms within the School, under instruction from the School’s Strategic Development Manager, other members of School staff, conference and event organisers, etc. Providing a contact point for routine first-aid situations.
