Job Description/Duties

Leeds Hyde Park Sports Club, located in LS6 (in the Hyde park area) is an awarding-winning and fast-growing local charity sports club. Beginning with football, its founder won Coach of the Year and has since been able to branch out into additional sports such as tennis. 

"One Community One Goal" is Leeds Hyde Park Sports Club's vision statement. Leeds Hyde Park FC aims to champion and support fair access to quality football for everyone regardless of postcode, gender, race, or disability, to improve lives, and strengthen communities.

In order to support further growth, and assist in day-to-day running, HPFC is looking for a Sports Club Officer to join our existing team of 8. This would be ideal for first or second year students in a business or sports related degree, however this is preferred not required. The right candidate could go onto long-term work with the club.


The ideal candidate would:

  • Have a clear passion for improving access to football and other sports to children in disadvantaged communities
  • Have an interest in football or other sports
  • Have a hands-on, proactive approach
  • Have IT skills
  • Have the ability to work closely in a team
  • Be dependable and motivated

Depending on the role, the following may also be beneficial:

  • Experience using social media in order to promote the club and its activities
  • Attention to detail
  • Customer service and communication skills
  • Creativity and resourcefulness
  • Organisational and time-management skills
  • People or project management skills
  • An valid UK driving license

Full training for the roles will be provided- these are just some examples of useful skills.

Knowledge of football is not essential for all roles below.



Charity Officer

  • Essential duties would include ensuring the club is compliant with current charity regulation
  • You may also be helping to recruit volunteers and coaches

President & Vice-President

  • Essential duties would be overseeing the operations of the club, attending meetings, and scheduling the volunteer rota
  • You would be on the front line to make sure everything is running smoothly, and capable of stepping into other duties on match days as needed.

Fundraising Officer

  • Essential duties would be organising and carrying out fundraising activities for the club
  • You would be working in tandem with the Charity Officer to make sure these meet standards


  • Essential duties would be keeping track of the club's finances, bookkeeping, and helping budget
  • You would also be working together with the Charity Officer on occasion to help recruit volunteers/additional workers

Club Secretary:

  • Essential duties would include answering email and phone queries, and dealing with registrations
  • You would also be the front-line person on the club's social media pages, responding to queries and promoting club activities

Fixture Secretary:

  • Arranging all the football fixtures

Set-up Assistant/Club Officer:

  • Duties would include opening and closing the venue, and ensuring the equipment is put up, taken down, and looked after properly

Hours: ~10 hours per week during term time and we remain flexible during this time.

You would be working seasonally, to match school term times:

The role will work as part of the team Early Sept to May however we wish to start training the right candidate ASAP. We would need the candidate to be available for this.

There will be a monthly team meeting you would need to attend in addition to this, and an end-of-year awards Gala.

Pay: £10 / hr + depending on skills and experience
