Job Description/Duties

Leeds City Council are recruiting a Fundraiser for the Leeds Parks Fund.

They are looking for an organised, outgoing and confident individual to assist with a range of fundraising activities for a new initiative Leeds Parks Fund aimed at raising charitable donations for Leeds parks.

The post-holder will work closely with a fundraising manager enthusing and inspiring individuals and community groups about parks and green spaces and generating donations and legacies from individuals and businesses.

The successful candidate should be able to build relationships with a wide range of people, have good administrative and IT skills, and be enthusiastic and proactive about organising and supporting volunteers. Relevant fundraising experience is desirable rather than essential but a passion for parks is a must.

The role will be based in Leeds City Council’s Parks and Countryside service and will involve travelling to parks across the city to support marketing and fundraising activity. The hours can be worked flexibly and homeworking is possible.

Leeds Parks Fund is a partnership initiative between Leeds City Council, Leeds Community Foundation, the University of Leeds and Leeds Parks and Green Spaces Users Forum. Funded by the National Lottery, and managed by Nesta, it is part of the national Rethinking Parks scheme to test innovative ways of managing the UK’s public parks and open spaces.

A valid driving licence is essential and applicants should be happy to work some weekends, bank holidays and evenings. Please note: your own vehicle is not required for this role, only a valid licence.

Leeds is one of the greenest cities in the UK, you can help keep it that way!
