Job Description/Duties

Are you passionate about supporting young people with multiple and complex needs?

Do you want to make a difference for a young person with Autism?

Can you spare 8 hours per month and an extra 4 hours in the school holidays?

Meet Billy:

I am a loving, cheeky and happy 12-year-old boy who is always laughing. I enjoy fun activities such as trampolining, going to the park and going for walks. I also enjoy having my tea at McDonalds!

You will:

  • Support Billy when out in the community by accessing a variety of parks to walk and play, trampoline parks and take him to McDonalds for his tea.
  • Support Billy with intimate care duties.
  • Discuss and plan other activity ideas with Mum.

Extra Information:

Mum would like to start with 2-3 hours on Sundays so Billy can build a relationship with his PA.

Experience with communication aids is preferred, however Mum can provide basic training if needed.

I am non-verbal so I use a communication aid to help me communicate how I am feeling, what I want to do and where I would like to go. I may also lead you to areas I enjoy and use gestures. I don’t like loud noises, busy places and any changes in my routine. When I am upset, please take me to a quiet space and use my communication aid to ask me what has upset me. Please make sure I have my ear defenders with me too. When we are out and about and near busy roads, please hold my hand so I don’t run away.

A car driver is essential.

Rate of pay:

£9.43 per hour.
