Job Description/Duties

Joblink are pleased to be recruiting on behalf of University of Leeds - Residential Services 

Are you a current University of Leeds undergraduate student, looking to gain valuable experience of Quality and Systems Management?

Please note: This vacancy is open to current University of Leeds students or recent graduates only

Key duties:

  • Providing thorough, accurate general support for the team, to gain hands on experience in a range of areas of administrative work;
  • Responding efficiently and professionally to inquiries or requests for information;
  • Using your initiative to solve straightforward problems, following procedures and seeking further information as required;
  • Building effective working relationships within Residential Services team and contributing to team decisions where appropriate;
  • With support from the Quality and Systems Manager making suggestions on how to improve Residential Services practices and processes;

You will need:

  • Excellent organisational and planning skills and the ability to complete tasks to agreed deadlines;
  • To assist in the preparation for external accreditation audits conducted by the British Standards Institute, attending verification audits as may be required.
  • To collate the results of internal audits and inspections, of contractors performance.
  • To assist to track Residential Services’ Quality Management System for compliance with ISO 9001:2015.
  • Be part of a team of internal auditors that test compliance with processes and standard operating procedures.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team;
  • A positive and proactive approach to problem solving and making improvements;
  • Strong IT skills and proficiency in the use of MS Office products, particularly Word and Excel;
  • The ability to communicate effectively and appropriately with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures
  • Interest in pursuing a career in Quality Management
  • Experience of report writing
  • An understanding of the importance of institutional aims and objectives and a commitment to working to achieve them
  • The ability to empathise with problems and concerns of others and provide advice and assistance in an appropriate and confidential manner.

Immediate start, ongoing role up to 12 months

Pay: £17,682 p/year
