The Finnish Saturday School in Leeds is looking for a native speaker to teach Finnish to a group of ca. 10 school-aged children, most of whom are bilingual in English and Finnish, starting in September. The lessons run every other Saturday (dates tbc), 10am-12noon with a break in between, in Headingley.
The teacher is expected to plan, prepare and deliver the lessons, however the School committee will help with the planning and there are lots of pre-existing materials to support the teaching. In the past lessons have normally comprised of some language learning activities combined with crafts, singing, games etc, but we are always open to new ideas.
No teaching experience is necessary, but we are looking for someone with a positive attitude, creativity and who enjoys working with children. We are a friendly group of people, and the School operates in a very informal environment.
The salary is £40-50 per session.
