Leeds University Union is a charity that helps over 38,000 students love their time at Leeds. Located at the heart of campus, the Union is a space to meet people, make new friends and get involved.
The role of Nightbus Driver is an exciting opportunity to be part of one of the largest and highest rated Students’ Union in the country, and to work as a key part of the support team to the many departments who work within the building.
The main duties of the nightbus are to take home students and Union staff from LUU late at night ensuring their safety and wellbeing. We also provide a delivery service for food donations to homeless shelters.
You will be required to run the bus to a timetable ensuring safe transportation of members and staff of LUU at all times. You will be taking fares from passengers and cashing up at the end of the shift, following all current LUU finance procedures.
You will also be making vehicle checks; ensuring faults and damage are reported to the duty manager immediately. Full training is provided of what to spot and how to fill out vehicle checks.
Working hours can vary, depending on what events are happening in the Union. Many nights are late night finishes, especially on Friday and Saturday nights, and you will be required to work until the early hours of the morning.
All applicants must have a FULL UK driving licence, a minimum of 2 years driving experience, and no penalty points. Successful candidates will be subject to DBS checks.
It would be great if you already have a MIDAS certificate, but its not essential since we are able to provide training for those successful candidates that don't already have one.
