Job description

Leeds University Union’s (LUU) Insight team is looking for a student to support the write-up of two research reports that seek to evaluate LUU’s events and services. This is a short-term role, with opportunity for flexible hours. The role would be ideal for a student with a basic understanding of quantitative and qualitative data analysis and interpretation, and an interest in research or insight work.

Main duties & responsibilities

·   Using a report template provided, summarise key findings from survey data.

·   Manipulate survey data for analysis and reporting.

·   Visualise data using tables, pie charts, line graphs, bar graphs, etc.

·   Summarise themes from categorisation of customer comments.

·   Work closely with LUU’s Insight team for feedback and support.

Qualifications & Skills

Essential:

·   A current student at the University of Leeds. This opportunity is open to students at all levels of study.

·   Strong written communication skills, with the ability to clearly summarise findings from data.

·   Ability to manipulate and interpret data, and draw conclusions.

·   Proficiency in Google Suite, including Google Sheets and Google Docs.

·   Good attention to detail.

·   Interest in research, data or student voice opportunities.

 

Desirable:

·   Use of pivot tables to compare groups.

·   Use of Looker Studio, including importing data and creating visualisations.

·   Basic understanding of market research.

 

Relevant courses

·   Any, although a course with an element of statistics or report writing would be desirable.

Location: Hybrid (Leeds University union & Remote)

Pay: £12.21


Hours: 20 hours total (flexible)

The role’s hours can be flexible to fit your schedule spread across 2-3 weeks.

Start date: Week commencing 28th April, or as soon as possible
