What does the role involve?
Do you like singing nursery rhymes, pretending to be a superhero, secretly enjoy messy art or role playing as an ice cream vendor?
In that case, we are looking for a superhero like you.
As a childcare assistant you will play a pivotal role in nurturing children’s welfare, learning and development and creating a fun and engaging learning environment.
Key duties:
· Work collaboratively in a team providing a caring and emphatic care to children aged between 1 and 5
· Supporting the team leader with play and learning activities through enthusiastic contribution
· Support policies and procedures aligned to the Early years foundation stage framework (EYFS)
· Supporting and inspiring children within your group
· Feeding and changing the smaller children
· General admin support to the team
You will need:
· To be warm-hearted and have a real empathy and passion for working with young children
· Enthusiasm to be involved in play activities and care for groups of children
· Ideally interest in early years education
An enhanced DBS or willing to apply

Relevant courses
Any courses considered however courses including Childcare, Early Years education, Teacher training, Psychology, Family studies preferred.

Where, when and pay?
The role will be based in person at all time at the Nursery, within walking distance of the University of Leeds Campus
Part time - Ad-hoc hours based on your availability and business needs – Sessions are 8am – 1pm, 1pm – 6pm or full days 8am – 6pm- Schedule confirmed weekly
Start date: Asap with ongoing start dates
End date: On going
Pay: £11.44/hr
