This part-time role will involve working with the Political Engagement Team here at LUU to ensure that students' voices are heard, and our members are able to make change. It will allow you to see and support a sector leading democratic structure. Specifically you’ll be hosting and chairing our termly Better Forums and Let’s Talk About sessions. The Better Forums are a space for members to create positive change at their Union, their University and in the City of Leeds while Let’s Talk About is a space for bringing together students and decision-makers to work together to create positive change for students.
You’ll get to meet lots of fellow students via the Forums, as well as candidates in LeadLUU, staff from LUU and the University of Leeds and local MPs. It will be a great opportunity for you to develop your communication, chairing and facilitation skills.
What we're looking for
We are looking for a motivated member of staff with an appetite for supporting and empowering our members, with a particular aptitude for understanding the diversity of our student membership and the specific needs of marginalised groups. The ideal candidate will be able to solve problems independently, have a creative mindset and be willing to work as part of a larger team.
We have great internal training opportunities and we are looking for someone who has a real passion for helping us make sure every student loves their time at Leeds.
