Job Description/Duties

Leeds Mind promotes positive mental health and wellbeing, and provides help and support to anyone who needs it in and around Leeds.  We have faith and optimism in our clients and so the services we deliver are built around their needs. We support the people of Leeds to discover their own resources to ‘recover’ from periods of poor mental health, and to live life independently with their mental health condition.

Our Service

The Marketing and Communications function works with teams across the organisation to tell the story of Leeds Mind. We are a small, resourceful and multi-disciplined team, working on a wide variety of things including: the Leeds Mind website, social media channels and newsletters; our own marketing materials; external media and blogs; regular campaigns and community events. We get the privilege of communicating about all the great news and stories from our colleagues and the people who use our services.


The Role

The successful candidate will bring an organised approach and a can-do attitude. They will have to be able to work quickly and with accuracy. Using their excellent communication skills, they will work across digital and print media to help tell people about our services, support our income generation targets and tackle the stigma around mental health difficulties.

 

This role has been created to increase our marketing and comms capacity in line with the growth aspirations of the charity.


Essential Skills and Experience:

 

•         Strong communication skills, including strong written communication

•         Excellent IT skills

•         Excellent administrative and organisational skills

•         Design skills

•         Experience of working to deadlines

•         Monitoring and engaging on multiple social media channels

•         Content creation, including basic video editing

•         Writing for different platforms – e.g. online news outlets, blogs, newsletters, university newspaper etc.

•         Comfortable with liaising with a wide variety of stakeholders

•         Able to organise and prioritise work

•         Work to and communicate around deadlines

•         Living our core values every day

Hours – 18.5

Salary - £23,460 - £24,776 per annum (pro rata)

Contract – Permanent

The role is based at Clarence House, Clarence Road, LS18 4LB with some remote home working.
