Job Description/Duties

REPORTING LINE: Office Research Team Manager 

LOCATION: Leeds or London 

DEPARTMENT: Operations 

The Local Data Company is recruiting multiple Data Quality Controllers to assist in growing and maintaining its database of over 680,000 retail and leisure businesses. This role is critical to the upkeep of our data.  

This position is a great opportunity for students keen to take a part time role whilst building a broad skill set including team work, technology, data processing as well as developing their knowledge of the retail and leisure market.  

ROLE 

This is an information processing role which will involve updating data on major retailer’s portfolio through online searches, contacting stores to check the accuracy of the data and quality checking the work of our field team. The role involves working with large volumes of complex data, problem solving when issues arise and working quickly with an incredibly high attention to detail.  

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Update major retailers’ portfolios via online searches 

  • Contact stores to quality check the data we hold in our database 

  • Process data received from the LDC field research team 

  • Feedback on ways to improve the quality of the data  

WHAT YOU WILL BRING  

Your Skills 

  • Excellent attention to detail 

  • Ability to work with a large amount of complex data 

  • Problem solving 

  • Ability to work with technology 

  • Track record of achieving targets 

  • Proven written and verbal communication skills 

  • High level of personal planning, organisation and initiative 

  • Previous knowledge of Excel, Access or similar database software is desirable (although training on our bespoke software will be provided)

  • Reliable, positive and professional can-do attitude 

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and target-driven environment 

  • Ability to work under pressure, taking full responsibility to meet deadlines
